June “Hike R-17” Challenge

It’s time to announce the June fitness challenge for R-17! Now that summer is here, it’s much easier to enjoy the great outdoors. We’re continuing our “Hike R-17” theme, and this month we’re going to visit Wyoming through the Thunder Basin National Grasslands.

June Weeks and Turn-In Dates

 

Week 1: June 1 to 2 (turn in on the 3rd)

Week 2: June 3 to 9 (turn in on the 10th)

Week 3: June 10 to 16 (turn in on the 17th)

Week 4: June 17 to 23 (turn in on the 24th)

Week 5: June 24 to 30 (turn in on July 1)

Start – Douglas, Wyoming

Walker Creek Road – 10 miles (150 active minutes)

Highland Loop Road – 20 miles (300 active minutes)

Jamie Street – 30 miles (450 active minutes)

Cheyenne River WYO 59 Rest Area – 40 miles (600 active minutes)

Betty Reservoir – 50 miles (750 active minutes)

Tea Pot Road – 60 miles (900 active minutes)

Cripple Creek – 70 miles (1050 active minutes)

Wright – 80 miles (1200 active minutes)

Haight Road Airport – 90 miles (1350 active minutes)

Bishop Road – 100 miles (1500 active minutes)

Sleepy Hollow – 110 miles (1650 active minutes)

Finish – Gillette, WY – 120 miles (1800 active minutes)
